Our Philosophy
We aim to teach the life skills that prepare children for the rest of their lives as well as their next step into primary school. We take pride in our work and strive daily to instill self-reliance and independence in the children in our care.
Ages Served
Infants to Pre-k: 2 months to 5 years
Our Program and Classrooms
Pooh and Friends Learning center offer 6 classrooms: 2 Infants, 3 Toddlers a 1 Pre-school/pre-k classroom. We are multi-language program.
Our program looks at the holistic needs of the child, and the skills learned in each classroom build on the ones before, so that each child graduates from our center physically and emotionally prepared to grow and learn to their fullest potential.
Our curriculum offers hands on activities that include field trips to the Somerville Media Center, the public garden nearby, the elderly home (Intergeneration program), the zoo and more. We also have great interactive learning activities that come straight to our Center, which both children and families enjoy. In summer, our children enjoy the Museum of Science, Curious Creatures and more, and participate in programs at the Somerville Public Library and SCAT Storytime available at SCATV YouTube channel.
We believe that families are our partners and engage our parents as much as possible. We conduct parent meetings and maintain family communication daily using Kid report app. Our families are always welcome and we encourage you to come and share your heritage and culture with us!
We are open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday and offer part and full-time enrollment ranging from 2 days to 5 days per week.
