Our Philosophy
Tree House Academy’s philosophy is to foster a child’s growth socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Our learning environment is organized by interest centers using various educational activities to promote creativity, exploration, experimentation, action and interaction.
We believe that a child’s first five years are the most significant period of learning. Children learn best when they are exposed to concrete experiences through child-centered and child-directed activities, and through play. Friendship skills, problem solving and enhancement of self-esteem are built into their daily interaction. Teachers act as facilitators, providing guidance, support and freedom for each child to learn at his or her own pace.
We believe that parent’s involvement in a child’s education is paramount. We work with parents to help each child develop the highest sense of self-esteem, mutual respect, and love of learning.

Our Program and Classrooms
Tree House Academy offers year-round full-day only programs at two locations in Somerville. The Washington Street location serves infants and toddlers and the Beacon Street location houses our preschool and Pre-K programs. Our curriculum offers a rich variety of experiences based on child-centered and child-directed activities and play. We incorporate enrichment activities including magic, puppets, music, Spanish classes with ABC Spanish in Motion, and Yoga with Kidpowerment Yoga.
Tree House is open 5 days a week from 7:00 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday and is conveniently located to Harvard University, Cambridge Hospital Lesley University, MIT and public transportation. Tree House Academy is open year-round.
Enrollment Information
Tree House Academy has a rolling enrollment process and is consistently enrolling children throughout the year. We are enrolling for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers and have full time and part time slots available.
